MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A forum at B.C. Rain High School gave voters a chance to hear from the four candidates left in the race.

“I think it’s important that as Americans we hear what the people running for office have to say,” said Alice Moore.

“I would love to see this city actually grow a little bit more, like a big metropolitan city, you know, and have a strong leader,” said Carl Evans.

With five weeks to go before the election, candidates made their case to voters.

The four candidates left in the running are Spiro Cheriogotis, Connie Hudson, Barbara Drummond and Paul Prine.

One thing is for sure, voters still want to hear from these four about which issues they plan to tackle.

“I would like to see it grow more, more jobs, more opportunity, reach out to the youth and help the homeless. Really, the homeless,” said Carl Evans.

“What I want to make sure of is that the whole Mobile, not just West Mobile, that they’re really cleaning up and taking care of, just the whole Mobile that’s being taken care of. Law enforcement and everything else,” said Edward. “The whole city get the same thing.”

Tonight’s forum was hosted by the Peninsula of Mobile, a nonprofit with a mission to redevelop and protect the peninsula’s sensitive environment. Their partners had a chance to hear which candidate will best support their future goals for the area.

“This beautiful area is very unique, it is an environmental anomaly, and we really just want to work to protect it, preserve it and we can’t wait to continue to work with the future of Mobile,” said one of their members.

“We want it to grow, support small businesses and we want everything to prosper on DIP,” said Alice Moore. “It used to be very prosperous, and I think it can be that way again.”
