Update on the Accident at the Gulfdale Prominade Garden

WKRG Reported on the Gulfdale Prominade Garden crash

A message from Yvette Young:

Hi guys, as we start the first week of the new year, I wanted to give everyone an update on the accident at Gulfdale, last Thursday 1/2/25.

First and foremost, we are grateful that no significant injuries or loss of life occurred, as a result of the accident.

To our knowledge, all three occupants received, scrapes, bruises and probably some trauma.

Secondly, thanks to everyone that expressed concern and interest in both the work that had been completed and the safety of the occupants of the vehicle.

Donavan Ballard along with other good Samaritans, had the palm moved from the location it landed in, back to the bed.

We have reached out to Roni of Roni’s Tropical Nursery to have the palm reinstalled.

However, in the meantime we are hopeful the palm will survive until it is replanted.

Also, Roni advised, it’s not just as simple as placing the palm back in the ground, but that it would need the proper nutrients to survive.

I also contacted the brick mason advising a repair of the bed is required.

Councilman Small reached out immediately to advise if needed, the city can provide funds to assist.

In the meantime, we are waiting to get additional details if whether the driver has insurance.

Thereafter, we will proceed as required to rebuild our beautiful bed.

Please be careful and remember, the heart of our community runs through three school zones.

Have a safe, prosperous, uneventful New Year.
