Cash for Trash Participants and Winner of the March 2024 Contest

#RevitalizeDIP’s Cash for Trash Contest was announced near the end of February 2024.

Several DIP Peninsula residents jumped at the chance to win the $50 gift card for picking up the most trash in March.

The following posts in our private Facebook group RevitalizeDIP prove to us that our community takes pride in cleaning up our neighborhoods.

@everyone……..Drum roll please, and the winner for March’s “Cash for Trash” is Antoinette Roberts Lewis. Please join us in congratulating Antoinette for her tremendous efforts for picking up trash for the month of March.
However, lets please congratulate all the litter advocates, as they are making our community cleaner one piece of litter at a time.
Cindy Freeman, please coordinate with Antoinette as required to present her prize for March.
Today is April 1st, so who will win for April?, Remember the rules are simple, 1)Pick up litter, 2) Post your photo, and 3) The number of people that assisted. Thanks to everyone for making this litter contest a reality.

3-23-2024- clubhouse- one person- 2 bags- and a pile of limbs- 45 minutes. I still have to go back and finish one large wet bag that is in the ditch. Hurt my back pulling the limbs out of the ditch so I’ll go finish in a couple of days. I’ve been wanting to get to those limbs because they were on top of trash and now they can pick up limbs with them piled on side of road.

3-20-2024 clubhouse by old trailer park- one person and ran out of bags so had to improvise 😊 so maybe one and another half bag. I made a pull along box which makes it easier than having to hold open bags 😆

@everyone Good morning. Quick Spring refresh this morning at CVS. We replaced a few lantana, pulled weeds, and fertilized. Just a top coat of straw remaining and we are done.
The beauty of it, it only took one hour. Imagine how our community would look if we volunteered one hour a month….. it would be amazing. ❤️❤️
Please help keep our community clean.

In an hour, I collected a bag of litter from around the CVS planter and from the grassy area on the north side of the shopping center where Food Champs is located. It’s encouraging to see the pictures of all the trash being picked up by friends and neighbors who want to see our community litter free. Yes, we’ll have to stay vigilant because the litter will return. But our community looks so much better when there’s no litter in yards, along roadways or in parking lots. And who knows, maybe our efforts will inspire others.

@everyoneSee below post from Love Your Community (LYC). We are knocking it out of the park. So happy to see the community coming together to participate in this very rewarding program. However, the board cannot take all of the credit. Evelyn Rachell DeAngelo noticed the annual litter cleanups we were doing and said “You guys need to sign up, You’re already doing the work.” Here we are, at the start of our third year, already won $3,000.00 and about to be awarded an additonal $1,500.00. The sky is the limit for us, this is truly a win win program.
Keep posting those litter photos, so we can continue to clean up the community. We have our Spring refresh for CVS scheduled for Saturday 3/16. We are also working on the block/stone repair at CVS. This is going to look so nice. Huge thank you to each and every person that has joined forces with us to RevitalizeDIP.

Doesn’t take a day or a weekend. This is a pickup as you go. If EVERYONE just picks up one piece………Found at Bama Bob’s in the ditch (Bama Bob’s serves Pepsi). 🤔🤔🤔

20 minutes and one wagon-load of garbage later along the Dog River, off of DIP. The high tide always brings the trash and this little litter collector is always ready to eliminate the mess.
